Caro-Kann't

Writing in the Guardian about his meeting with Bobby Fischer in Iceland, Stephen Moss observes:
Already, said one paper last week, after two days of citizenship, he is the second most famous Icelander after Björk. And I bet Björk can't play the Caro-Kann defence.
Which is an odd thing to say, really, because Fischer's no expert on the subject either. In all his years playing chess Fischer never once played the Caro-Kann defence.

But then, Fischer never once played the Queen's Gambit until the match in 72, and turned out he was quite the expert after all.

Have you considered the thought that Ficher isnt probably at the top level of play now or anywhere after the early 90's due to the computer age and players like Kasparov and Anand and Leko? Not saying Fischer didnt have his moments, but i think he is a bit over rated in the chess world now.
